This course is designed around two basic themes.

First, it is intended to introduce the science of PHYSICS as it explains the relationship Matter, Energy, and the Physical Universe. Specific areas to be explored include:

  1. Kinematics
  2. Dynamics
  3. Heat, Matter, and Thermodynamics
  4. Waves, Light, and Sound
  5. Electricity and Magnetism
  6. Modern Physics

An extensive glossary of many other difficult topics made understandable can be found at The Physics of the Universe.

Second, and of equal importance, is to prepare the student for the rigors of higher education.

Specific attention will be focused on current teaching and learning strategies that will be invaluable to future collegiate studies. Of particular importance will be practice in logical problem solving, strategic reading, study skills, and computer literacy.
